LETTER: EU wretched – and worn-out

Catherine Bearder MEP wants to know what Eurosceptics are FOR instead of what they are against. Allow me to enlighten her.

I am for taking back control of our fishing and agricultural industries. I am for taking control of our own borders once more. I am for taking back the £55 million a day that we have to pay net. I am for the continued trade that undoubtedly will continue when we leave the wretched worn-out organisation whose annual accounts have not been signed off for 16 years.

And make no mistake that trade will indeed continue. In one recent year the EU made £62 billion more out of us than we made from them. They are hardly likely to cut off their collective noses to spite their faces upon our departure. I am for being able to what Iceland has just done. On its own, and with a population less than the most recent net migration figure into our country, Iceland has secured a trade deal with China, with no help from anyone.

Is that enough for you for the moment, Ms Bearder as to what I am FOR?
