Eastbourne has banned the sale of foie gras on council property but sadly Seaford is not so compassionate. Foie gras is sold at the French market because “it brings business to the town” according to Chamber of Commerce officials. So the fact that geese/ ducks are force-fed by a metal tube many times a day till their livers swell up to 10 times their normal size apparently doesn’t matter as long as business comes to Seaford. These birds are kept in tiny cages and are in pain. Many are injured during the force-feeding. I am disgusted by the attitude of Seaford Chamber of Commerce.
