LETTER: Can anyone help with entertainer?

The British Music Hall Society is planning to unveil a blue plaque to the entertainer who became known as Mr Eastbourne: Sandy Powell.

Many readers will recall that Sandy and his wife Kay White played some 15 summer seasons at the old Pier Theatre in the 50s and 60s. They lived at a house in Elms Avenue where the plaque will be mounted, it is hoped, in the spring of 2015.

The British Music Hall Society would like to establish when exactly Sandy and Kay Powell moved into Elms Avenue. It is thought that perhaps it was as early as 1950, but clarification is needed. Can anyone help?
