LETTER: An end to this silly bickering

What a waste of time and money – this bickering about the windows of the East Beach Hotel.

The new windows are fine. They will be more energy efficient and environment friendly. Surely that is what we are constantly being nagged to do.

Then we have the pier. Let’s give Mr Gulzar a chance. He has done so much for Eastbourne, and all the councillors do is put down everything he does. It is a miracle he stays in the town.

What a shame the councillors do not take a walk around the seedier, dirty , back streets of Eastbourne. I am sure they will find plenty to moan about – I know I do. I have lived here all my life (72 years). I no longer have pride in my town as it has become dirty and run down.

Oh, whilst I am on my soap box, why oh why are we having more restaurants in the new shopping mall. There are plenty outside. Let’s have more variety of shops. And why have another cinema in the centre, when we have one in town and the equivalent of six just outside of town. That’s it , I am done!
