Hindsland plan is a betrayal of Polegate

I HAVE written the response below to Wealden District Council regarding proposals to develop Hindsland playing fields in Polegate.

I believe your readers should be made aware of the blatant immorality of this situation.

As I understand it, Hindsland was gifted by the Polegate Town Council as recreational space for both Brighton University and the local community.

Instead, the university ‘bean counters’ have been allowed to ‘mothball’ the facility in the hope of a future commercial gain. Development of this particular space would be a travesty and betrayal of the people of Polegate.

Hindsland should be reinstated as originally intended for the benefit and wellbeing of existing and future generations.

ANDREW LOWER,
