Goodbye and thank you

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to announce that due to long- term illness I will be standing down as chairman of the Residents’ Association, affective from March 31.

If there is anyone who would like to take over, please let me know so we can hold a brief meeting to get you voted in. Who ever wants to take this on, I will of course support you with as much information as possible.

Just to let you know that I am not going to completely disappear, as I will still attend the odd meeting here and there and also I want to see through the speeding traffic issue on Lottbridge Drove, as there is a meeting at ESCC in the next few weeks.

I would like to make a few special mentions to Viv Angus, Claire Banks, Pcso Kathryn Harlow, Bill and Jean Whaley, PC Lisa Cousins, all those I have contacted at EBC and of course Claire Russell and Stefan Pollom at Home Group.

Through their help and guidance it was possible to solve a tremendous amount of problems with developers, anti-social behaviour and to try and make our estate a safer and happier place to live in. Which I hope will continue to be in the future.

Having lived in Eastbourne all of my life you notice the trends in complaining letters to your paper over the years, but you rarely see any letters praising our local councillors and MP, which these people do because they care about the town. So next time you decide to put pen to paper, ask yourself what good you have done for this town.

STEVE TUTT, Chairman of the Regency Park Residents Association.
