IT is good news the church bells are being rung at St Mary’s, Westham, to remind folk a Christian service is to take place. Although the bells may not have rung during the time Rev and Mrs Barrett were in charge, worship was conducted throughout in forms which would have appealed to allcomers. There was communion and matins from the 1662 prayer book, family service to suit all ages and informal worship. There are many who are thankful for the children’s work at “Story keepers” and “Noah’s ark” which took place on weekdays. May the ringing of the bells bring many worshippers to St Mary’s which has stood firmly for ten centuries.
