ANYONE who went to the concert, performed by the Eastbourne Choral Society last Saturday, November 26 at All Saints Church were in for a treat.
Starting with the lesser known work “Messe De Minuit” by “Charpentier,” was a good choice.
A charming piece, lilting and tuneful with a different sound from the orchestra.
The choir had obviously worked hard and sounded perfectly balanced as were the soloists. Just superb.
In the second half “Zadok,” always a popular piece, was followed by anthems 2, 3, and 4 intervened by pieces played on the organ by David Force.
Music Director John Hancorn was, as always, in complete control of his choir. A wonderful evening.
