I am at a loss to understand why the council in their wisdom have decided that every resident of Eastbourne will be able to fill the giant green and brown bins in two weeks. I can’t believe that every householder will have enough cardboard, plastic etc, and garden waste even to half fill them.
I have noticed that in Wealden all the brown bins are half the size - who was responsible for deciding on these huge bins - our council or Kier?
The price of these huge ones alone must have increased the cost considerably.
Enough problems are caused to residents trying to find somewhere to store the bins, but at least if they were smaller they would take up less space, and be less intrusive on the environment.
Why couldn’t we have been given the smaller bins with a note in the booklets we received that we could request a larger one if required ?
