AS I write, the useful Countryliner bus 32 Eastbourne-Uckfield has just been withdrawn, only a few months after it was introduced.
We are told this is due to reductions in fuel subsidies, but I suspect under-use of such services is largely due to lack of publicity.
Bus stops around Eastbourne seem to show only Stagecoach routes and no printed timetables have been circulated for the 32 route – times seem only to be available on the internet.
Other cross-country routes also have a low profile, often having no information at stopping places.
Surely bus operators in our area could do more to publicise their services and keep them viable?
