As a nurse I had no option but to strike

I WAS upset to read the Out In the Field column regarding the strike entitled ‘less attitude, more gratitude.’

I work in the NHS and despite increasing pressures (pay freezes, job freezes, service cuts) I love my job and feel grateful every day that I have it.

However I, like many others, felt compelled to make a stand on the 30th. Not because I’m greedy or ungrateful for what I have - we are not asking for more of anything - just asking the government to keep its promise; and with them ignoring petitions and lobbying, unfortunately this action is the only voice that we have left.
