DEDICATED Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the First Polegate Scout Group received official recognition for their endeavours in the 100 Challenges that they were set to mark the 100th birthday of Scouting in the Eastbourne District.
The youngsters were tasked with completing 100 challenges within a year, ranging from proving they understood the key values of Scouting such as helping others and first aid, through to more humorous tasks such as helping themselves to doughnuts without using their hands or licking their lips.
Group leader Sue Barber said, “We had a great time completing these challenges over the year, we meet weekly on a Friday during term time and to have something a little different and with a purpose is always good for the youngsters.
“Parents also supported their children with the challenges. It was great as it gave them something to do when they were at a loose end. I had my car washed and the best challenge had to be, keep your room tidy for a week.”
