Young woman raped in Eastbourne playground

Police are seeking witnesses after a young woman was raped by a man she had agreed to meet in Eastbourne on Wednesday (December 9)

She had walked to a pre-arranged meeting at the Macmillan Drive playground, near Motcombe Infants’ School, shortly after 9pm.

The man is known to her.

He is described as white, 6ft, in his 30s, clean shaven and with a local accent. He was wearing a short, dark beige raincoat and jeans.

Detective Inspector Mark O’Brien said, “Anyone who saw the man or the girl – who was wearing distinctive white jeans – or who may have other relevant information, is asked to come forward.”
