WELL-KNOWN restaurateur and cookery writer Katie Caldesi will be the guest speaker at a Literary Lunch at the Langham Hotel on March 31.
Katie, owner of four Italian restaurants and the only Italian cookery school in London, will be speaking about her most recent book The Italian Cookery Course. The book has been shortlisted for the Andre Simon Awards and the Guild of Food Writers Cookery Book of the Year Award.
Katie has also written several books with her husband, renowned chef Giancarlo Caldesi. Following the success of their first volume ‘Italian Mama’s Kitchen’, the couple were given their own television series Return to Tuscany, which was aired on BBC 2 in the autumn of 2006. Since then Katie Caldesi has become a regular on such programmes as Market Kitchen, BBC Breakfast, Masterchef, and Saturday Kitchen.
Sher will be talking about her life and work at the Literary Lunch, and the menu will be made up of dishes taken directly from her book. Copies of The Italian Cookery Course’ will be available, and the afternoon will end with a book signing.
