Woman raped in Eastbourne after night out with friends

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was raped in Eastbourne during the early hours of Thursday morning (3 September).

The victim had been with friends in the Atlantis nightclub when they all left to go to a friend’s house in Seaside Road. She then left to walk home on her own some time after 3am. It’s not known exactly where she was attacked, but it is believed to be in an alleyway near Springfield Road.

The suspect is described as white with pale skin and brown hair.

Detective Sergeant Lee Floyd said, “We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen something suspicious during the early hours of Thursday morning.
