POLICE are hunting for an attacker who grabbed a woman from behind as she was walking down an Eastbourne street over the weekend.
A 31-year-old local woman was grabbed from behind by an unknown man as she walked along Milfoil Drive on Saturday.
The woman alleges that around 9.30pm a man grabbed her around the neck and tried to pull her to the ground but ran off after she hit him with her shoe.
Detective Sergeant John Stevens from East Sussex CID said: “The incident was reported on Sunday and we are in the early stages of establishing exactly what happened.
“The victim is understandably very shaken and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity to please come forward. Call 101 quoting serial 589 of 9/12 or leave a message anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Officers are continuing with forensic examinations and are making local enquiries and viewing CCTV from the area.”
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark bomber style jacket, a beanie hat and had bad body odour.
