EASTBOURNE’S St Wilfrid’s Hospice is asking photographers to come up with wintry views for a charity card for next Christmas. The hospice sells more than 75,000 Christmas cards with 100 per cent of the profits going towards the work carried out at the building in Mill Gap Road.
Vanessa Burr, at the hospice, said, “We want pictures of local snowy or wintry views and ideally recognisable as a local scene - capturing the essence of this beautiful part of the world we live in. We know people really appreciate being able to send a card with a local theme that also supports a local charity.”
It is the third year the hospice has run a competition. Last year Derek Blaney won with this photograph of Alfriston Church.
The winning image will be published in the 2011 Christmas Card Collection with the picture, title and artist’s name acknowledged.
The closing date is Monday ,February 14, 2011 and photos can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to Christmas Card Competition, Fundraising Offices, 39-41 Upperton Road, Eastbourne, BN21 1LN.
