Win tickets to Journey's End at the Devonshire Park

THE STUNNINGLY poignant World War One drama, Journey's End comes to the Devonshire Park Theatre from March 22-27.

The Eastbourne Herald has four pairs of tickets to give away to the opening night's performance in this free competition.

A young, talented but war-weary Captain Stanhope is confronted with the fresh face of his past as an old schoolmate joins his platoon.

As the offensive looms ever closer, Stanhope must inspire his men to make the ultimate sacrifice for a war he no longer understands and for a cause he no longer remembers.

This compelling play based on R.C Sherriff's own experience in the trenches of World War I with its heroism, humour and inevitable tragedy shows courage in the face of uncertain odds.

The star cast includes Graham Seed from The Archers and Midsomer Murders and Adam Best from Holby City and Waking the Dead.

Journey's End is staged within Stanhope's claustrophobic and atmospheric dugout, time creeps to a standstill as the young soldiers await their orders before racing to the play's heart wrenching climax as these young men face their own Journey's End.

The acclaimed production is a traditional adaptation of this compelling play, setting the 10-person cast in a realistic trench dugout which fills the Devonshire Park with the sights, sounds and smells of the war to end all wars.
