A FIRM of solicitors with offices in Sussex has raised thousands of pounds for charity by writing wills for local clients.

The teams at Quality Solicitors Barwells, which has offices in Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven and Eastbourne, managed to raise a total of £7,585.

The company got involved in the fundraiser as part of its November ‘Will Aid’ campaign.

‘Will Aid’ clients were offered a basic will when they were asked to make a donation instead of paying the firm’s usual fees.

The money raised by the solicitors will be shared between a host of charities including: Actionaid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trocaire.

Barwells has participated in the Will Aid scheme for many years and this year’s result brings their grand total to more than £30,000.

Stephen Ash, Partner, said, “Barwells are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount for the Will Aid charities.

“It is really important that people make a will so that their estates can be left to their loved ones or favourite charities on their death.

“The Will Aid scheme is so good as it gives the opportunity for clients to put their legal affairs in order and make a donation to some great Charities.

“We would like to thank all our clients who gave so generously to Will Aid.”
