Wealden burglary suspect arrested in Surrey

A 22-year-old burglary suspect who had last been seen in the Wealden area has been arrested this morning (Monday).

Officers acting on a tip-off arrested Darryl Matthew Dempsey at 7.25am at an address in Dorking, Surrey, following an offer of £500 for information leading to his arrest.

Police say he was wanted on suspicion of eight burglaries other than dwellings, six counts of fraud, driving while disqualified and failing to stop as well as other motoring offences.

He had last been seen in the Hailsham area prior to a public appeal and is now in the custody of Sussex Police for interview.
