Eastbourne Town Hall will be illuminated by a stunning light show this evening (Friday, December 4) to mark the town’s Neon Noel and Little Christmas in Little Chelsea events.

The Neon Noel light show will make its debut at 4.30pm this evening, switched on by Eastbourne Mayor Janet Coles, and it will be repeated at 5.30pm and 6.30pm – and at those three times every evening until December 13.

The event has been created by Eastbourne company West End Studios and backed by the town’s Chamber of Commerce.

From Monday, residents and school children nominated by local schools will have the honour of turning on the lights each night – with Debbie Downs first on the list. Debbie, a mum from West Rise Junior School, was nominated by her friends as she is battling cancer. She will be switching on the light show with her two children at 4.30pm on December 7.

Debbie said, “I feel so privileged to be turning on Neon Noel on Monday. It’s a huge honour, and one that my children Cerys and Kai will remember for a long time.”

Traders in Grove Road and South Street will also be hosting their annual Little Chelsea in Little Christmas event this evening, with late night shopping, market stalls, entertainment and refreshments.

Santa will be in residence at his winter wonderland grotto in Old Stable Mews in South Street, with real reindeer to feed and pet.

There will also be a funfair, carol singers, morris dancers, music and street entertainment.

Four Disney princesses – Frozen’s Elsa and Anna, and Cinderella and Belle – and the cast of pantomime Peter Pan will be at the event.
