Animal rescue teams are treating an injured duck in Eastbourne after trying to save him for two days.

The white Aylesbury duck, nicknamed Charlie by rescuers, was badly injured in a dog attack in Princes Park on Monday (September 7).

Despite his injuries the duck was able to evade volunteers from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service attempting to treat his injuries.

The rescuers considered returning to Princes Park lake with a boat to help reach Charlie’s hiding spot. But it proved unnecessary and the duck was caught late on Tuesday evening.

Charlie has two wounds on his back and is now being treated at the service’s animal hospital.
