Eastbourne RNLI volunteer David Cornwell has been presented with a long service badge and letter of appreciation to mark his 20 years’ service to the town’s lifeboats.

At the presentation during Sunday’s crew meeting David, affectionately known as Trigger to his crew mates, received the award from operations manager Paul Metcalfe.

David first joined Eastbourne lifeboats in 1992 aged 16 and helped with the slipway launching operations of the Duke of Kent. Now his main job is operating the station’s Bobcat tractor which launches the inshore lifeboat from the beach at Fisherman’s Green.
