Police are searching for Leon Luke Stolton, 35, of Rotherfield Avenue, Eastbourne, in connection with a domestic assault at the address at 9.20pm on Wednesday (July 13).

A 36-year-old woman was dragged by her hair along the road and threatened with a machete.

A search conducted at the time, with assistance from a National Police Air Service helicopter, failed to locate Stolton, who it is thought may still be in the Langney area of Eastbourne.

Detective Sergeant Steve Shimmons, of the Safeguarding Investigations Unit, Hastings, said, “Stolton is known to be violent. It is important that we trace him as soon as possible.”

Stolton is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, of proportionate build, with blue eyes, a beard and cropped brown hair.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen Stolton or who knows of his whereabouts. They are asked not to approach him but to dial 999 immediately and ask for police.

Information can also be passed via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).
