The University of Brighton’s Eastbourne campus is trying to halve its carbon emissions by better educating staff and students.

Management at the university launched a new campaign earlier this week which they hope will also drastically reduce its energy wastage.

Dubbed The C-change Initiative the campaign will highlight carbon intensive activities and advise people how to avoid or limit them, with tips like turning off lights and computers and taking the stairs instead of a lift.

Abigail Dombey, the university’s environmental manager, said: “Even small actions can make a difference.”
