Eleven-year-old Louisa Ellingsworth has followed in her friend’s footsteps, by donating 14 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust. The trust provides free real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses. And after Nuala O’Rourke donated 12 inches of her hair, raising around £700 in December, long time friend Louisa said she wanted to help too. After having her long blonde hair snipped for the charity at Kumi and Sam’s hair salon on Monday, she has also raised almost £500. So the pair have managed to donate more than £1,000 so far to the good cause. Mum Kirsteen said, “Louisa has had long, blonde, beautiful hair for ever. At the grand age of eleven, she has realised how lucky she is, not only to have this lovely hair, but also to have her health; and that out there somewhere is a brave, poorly little girl who would be ever so happy to have hair just like hers.”
