THE EASTBOURNE Twitterati will gather at the Winter Garden later this month.
Earlier this year the Herald reported on a mass meet-up of local Twitter users at a seafront hotel and it seems the numbers of people using the popular social networking site are going up on a daily basis.
Local tourism website www.visiteastbourne.co.uk is organising the next tweet-up, which will take place on Thursday, November 24, between 4pm and 7pm.
And the hope is as many local Twitter users as possible will drop-in to put a face to online avatars.
Eastbourne Borough Council, which runs Visit Eastbourne, is determined to embrace modern technology to help sell the town.
And its head of tourism and leisure Councillor Neil Stanley said, “Twitter has certainly become an important part of our tourism and leisure marketing in Eastbourne, helping us to reach new audiences both within the local community as well as connect with new visitors.
“We have formed some fantastic relationships with local businesses and individuals via twitter and we hope this will be a great networking opportunity to meet other tweeters face to face, and have the chance to speak in more than 140 characters.”
Anyone who uses Twitter is welcome to attend – including businesses who are benefiting from the networking side of the online community.
