Troubled stores will stay open in town

Troubled chains Thomas Cook and Dreams bed
store are to stay open in Eastbourne.

Dreams went in to administration last week but the majority of its stores were bought out the next day. Eastbourne’s store in Hampden Park is among those that has been saved.

It was also announced that Thomas Cook was cutting 2,500 jobs and closing 195 of its high street travel agencies to bring the company back to profitability.

However, a spokesperson from Thomas Cook confirmed that Eastbourne’s branch was not on the hit list and would be staying open.
