A SMALL patch of land has been given a makeover in Sovereign Harbour. The area, known as the Bermuda Triangle, has been improved by work partly funded from the ward councillors devolved ward budget.
The plot, situated between the lock gates, The Piazza, Bermuda Place and Key West, was purchased from developers Persimmon by a group of residents headed by David Payne, so they could plant the shrubs approved by the council some years ago.
When approached by Mr Payne, the Sovereign Ward Councillors, Gordon Jenkins, Philip Ede and Patrick Warner were pleased to allocate £1,100 of match funding to ensure the scheme went ahead.
Cllr Jenkins said, “We are always happy to hear of community projects which can make a difference and so when approached had no hesitation in agreeing to assist the residents.”
