PEOPLE can scale the heights at a new climbing wall as it opens for a trial weekend on the Wish Tower slopes.
Families are invited to come and scale the eight-metre tall tower and mount their way around the three climbing faces, with Eastbourne Borough Council hoping to make it a permanent attraction for the summer holidays if it proves popular this weekend.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Councillor Neil Stanley said, “We are always looking to extend the tourism product on offer on Eastbourne seafront and trial new ideas to see how they are received. We are particularly excited to launch the Sussex Climbing Wall this weekend and offer a fantastic opportunity for visitors and residents of all ages to get active and test their head for heights on the impressive tower.
“Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced climber, I’d encourage as many people as possible to visit the Wish Tower Slopes this weekend and give the climbing wall a go.”
The Sussex Climbing Wall will be open this weekend, July 23-24, from 11am and experts will be on hand to safely guide climbers up the tower.
