Travellers set up on Eastbourne seafront

A number of travellers have pitched up on land on Eastbourne seafront.

Sussex Police said shortly before 7pm last night (Monday May 9), officers received reports of a number of travellers on King Edward’s Parade.

Officers spoke to the occupants of seven vehicles, who said they had travelled from Hastings.

Police say they are working with the local authority to resolve the situation and reach a speedy resolution.

“No notices have been served at this time, however officers will be speaking to the occupants again today (Tuesday) and appropriate enforcement action will be considered,” said a spokesperson at Sussex Police.
