Business people, shopkeepers, hoteliers and independent traders in Eastbourne’s Devonshire West are getting together to form a new group to tackle issues that affect their area.
Brian Lawrence is one of the people behind the Traders Action Group and he said, “We know our area has its own set of problems that don’t always get noticed in discussions about the whole of Eastbourne, and we want to make sure our voice is heard.
“And the best way to do that to join forces and coordinate.
“If you’re in business in Devonshire West, you need to be involved.”
The group’s first meeting will be on Thursday January 29 at the Langham Hotel at 7pm.
Further details are available from Brian at his shop, Felix and Scarlett’s Dancewear, 75 Cavendish Place, or by calling 645547 or emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org
The set up of the group is funded by Devonshire West Big Local, the £1million lottery award for a 10 year programme to make resident-led improvements to the area.
Details of the action group are on the Devonshire West Big Local website.
Big Local, a £200m investment, was launched by the Big Lottery Fund in July 2010 to support 150 small urban and rural communities to come together to make their areas even better places to live.
