The Towner, Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion and Hastings’ Jerwood Gallery have joined forces to create a cultural trail.
The Coastal Culture Trail will launch on the weekend of June 8-9 with special events. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions of Fiona Rae, the Chapman Brothers, Shaun Gladwell, William Scott and a display of modern British portraits – as well as art and architectural tours, family fun and comedy by Henning Wehn.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Councillor Carolyn Heaps said, “It is great to hear that the award winning art museum the Towner is teaming up with the other fantastic galleries. The Coastal Trail sounds like a brilliant seaside art weekend trip!”
The suggested trail begins in Hastings – the Jerwood Gallery has programmed a special late evening opening on Friday June 7, allowing visitors to browse the permanent collection of 20th and 21st century British art.
Next is De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill and the trail ends here in Eastbourne at the Towner, with an exhibition from Fiona Rae.
