Army cadets in Eastbourne were praised for their recent hard work in helping sell poppies ahead of the recent Remembrance Sunday.
Teenagers from the 54 Eastbourne Air Training Corp and other local cadet groups spent countless hours in and around the town centre collecting donations for the annual Royal British Legion fundraiser and memorial service.
And at the end of their fundraising drive, the cadets were visited by a host of local dignitaries who praised them for giving up their time to volunteer.
Among those who stopped by to speak to the cadets was Eastbourne’s MP Stephen Lloyd (pictured).
The town’s mayor Councillor Mike Thompson also offered his thanks to the young people.
It was not just the town’s teenagers who got involved though. Further down Terminus Road 93-year-old John Bennett donned his war medals to collect for the charity.
