A GROUP committed to improving life in Hailsham is set to receive a Government grant of £10,000

Hailsham Town Council is delighted to announce that the Town Team Partners application has been selected to receive £10,000 in government funding to help to put elements a town revitalisation plan into action.

The grant will be used towards the cost of additional town signs on the A22 and A271, new town centre signage, the drawing up of plans with a highway consultant for a pedestrian-friendly high street, together with a detailed parking review and marketing and promotion of the town.

The Hailsham Town Team will be now be supported by the Association of Town Centre Management, which has more than 20 years of experience in helping town centres become prosperous locations for business and investment.

Councillor Nigel Coltman said, “We’re very pleased that Hailsham has been chosen to receive this funding and dedicated professional support, allowing us to focus our attention on the marketing of promotion of Hailsham as an appealing, clean, friendly and safe place for people to live, work, shop and spend their leisure time.”

The Hailsham Town Team has put forward some innovative ideas and is looking forward to delivering the package of incentives to revitalise the town

Deputy Town Clerk and Business Enterprise Manager Mickey Caira said, “This is a positive piece of news for Hailsham.

“The £10,000 funding will bring a much-needed boost to us locally, shows that it was the right decision to put forward a bid and will give a real kick-start to our plans for the revitalisation of the town.

“It is great to have received Charles Hendry’s support from the outset and we are grateful to him for all he has done .”
