A letter to Santa posted up an Eastbourne chimney by a child almost 100 years ago has been found during building work.

Builders working at Emily Nash’s home in Eshton Road discovered the note while removing one of the chimney breasts.

The letter is to Father Christmas dated 1925 and signed by E Short.

The writer asks for a box of soldiers, chocolates and handkerchiefs.

Emily says she would love to know who wrote it and if they or their family are still in Eastbourne.
