A DUNKIRK veteran’s medal and a century of memories were buried in a time capsule under an Eastbourne nursing home.

The medal was donated by 90-year-old Gladys Glensita of Pentlow Nursing Home, Summerdown Road.

Resident Elsie Tracy, 102, sealed a number of memories in the container which was laid under the new lounge extension at the nursing home.

Lesley Wicks, manager of Pentlow, said, “The time capsule represents both the past and the future and so we were delighted that all our residents were involved in selecting the items that were included.”
