The biggest beer festival in East Sussex returns to Eastbourne’s Winter Garden this October.

Tickets are already selling fast for the event, which is celebrating its 14th year. There will be the usual award-winning beers, live music, classic pub games, cider bars and more.

More than 160 cask ales will be on tap, featuring old favourites such as Derbyshire’s Thornbridge Brewery’s Jaipur, which won its third Eastbourne Award last year for Beer of the Festival. There will be plenty of new drinks joining the menu too, including some original flavours from local breweries which have recently started up.

New local Gun Brewery’s Zamzama IPA and Harveys Prince of Denmark have also been confirmed. All beverages have been carefully selected for the festival by local CAMRA members (Campaign for Real Ale), who will be there on the day to advise which brew to try.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Bannister said, “Sussex is well-known for its delicious variety of independent breweries, and the festival has proved to be a wonderful way to taste and celebrate local produce year in year out.

“Last year saw over 4,000 visitors at the Winter Garden and tickets will be sure to sell quickly for 2016. We cannot wait to welcome the festival back and raise our tankards to the festival’s 14th year!”

As well as the barrels of ale and beer, the festival will be bringing a fruitful selection of fresh cider, wine and international bottled beers from around the world.

Local bands Hot Detroit and Wakin’ Snakes have so far been confirmed for the live music stage, bringing Motown and American Cajun genres set to join other local bands across the three days.

Tickets for Thursday October 6 from 6pm – 11pm, are £6 in advance, £4 for CAMRA members and students and £7 on the door. Friday October 7 sees advance tickets priced at £10, £7 for CAMRA members and £11 when purchased on the door, with doors open from 5.30pm – 11pm.

Saturday October 8 is split into two sessions. Tickets for the day session 11am – 4pm can be purchased at the advance ticket price of £7 and £5 for CAMRA members, or on the door for £8. The final session is on Saturday evening 6pm – 11pm and is £6.50 if bought in advance, costing CAMRA members £5, tickets £7 if payed for on the door.
