Sarah-Michelle Clear, Eastbourne’s promising young triathlete, returned from her European tour last week, having completed three triathlons and covered 1,200 miles.
The nine-year old competed in three triathlons in three countries in the space of three weeks. On August 16 she competed in the UK at Ringmer, placing 4th Female and 7th Overall. She then headed to Chantilly, Paris for August 23, where she placed 2nd Female and 16th Overall. The trio of triathlons was completed in Goch, Germany on August 31, where she placed 2nd Female and 2nd Overall.
As a surprise for all of her hard work training over the past year Sarah-Michelle was treated to two days in Disneyland Paris whilst in France before getting back to business in Germany.
Whilst competing in over 20 triathlons this year Sarah-Michelle has so far managed to raise just over £200 for Chestnut Tree House, who currently care for 300 children and young people with life-shortening and life-threatening illnesses across Sussex and South East Hampshire, including 79 in East Sussex.
