Eastbourne Writes Festival (June 29- 30) will again feature a writing competition open to everyone with the theme The Word is Out.
The first six winners in each category and each age group will have their work published in a compilation of a paperback book and ebook for Kindle, courtesy of My Voice Publishing.
The categories will be: poetry (up to 21 lines), short stories (up to 2,000 words), flash fiction (up to 250 words), for four age groups – under 12s, 12-18s, over 18s and over 65s – and illustrations (colour or black and white) winner will be on the cover of the book. The closing date for entries is June 6.
Entry fees are £3 per two entries for those over 18 (only two entries per category per person) and for an extra £2 they will receive a copy of the book.
Under 18s can enter free (only two entries per category per person) and for £2 can receive a copy of the book.

The Eastbourne Writes Festival will be held at the Enterprise Shopping Centre’s first floor and the Tome Book Shop at 226 Terminus Road plus other venues to be announced.
There will be several guest speakers and workshops as well as stalls featuring various writers and organisations including the New Eastbourne Writers and the Anderida Writers Group of Eastbourne.
