The stage is set for an all-star cast in feel-good comedy
CLASSIC comedy The Grass Is Greener comes to Eastbourne's Devonshire Park Theatre from October 5-10 featuring an all-star cast headed by Liza Goddard and Christopher Cazenove.
From the pen of Britain's favourite play-writing team of the Sixties, Hugh and Margaret Williams, the show proved to be a huge hit in London's West End and went on to be adapted into an award winning movie starring legendary actors Cary Grant, Deborah Kerr, Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons.
The cast for this latest production includes Liza Goddard, Christopher Cazenove (Dynasty), Jack Ellis (Bad Girls) and Sophie Ward (Holby City and Heartbeat).
Liza started her career as Clancy in the Australian cult TV show Skippy. She has since starred in several smash-hit series including; Bergerac, Take Three Women, Yes, Honestly, Take Three Girls, The Brothers, Dr Who and Midsomer Murders.
On stage Liza has had recent hits with Life and Beth and The Importance of Being Earnest. She was most recently in Eastbourne starring in the acclaimed stage production of Oliver Goldsmith's comedy She Stoops to Conquer.
Film, television and stage actor Christopher Cazenove is probably best known for his roles in 1970s drama series The Regiment, as Charlie Tyrell in The Duchess Of Duke Street, and Ben Carrington in the US soap opera Dynasty.
More recently he's been a regular in the BBC flagship drama Judge John Deed.
When an impoverished English Earl opens his stately home to the public, he risks more than the loss of his privacy, as his wife falls madly in love with an irresistible American millionaire.
In a desperate attempt to save his marriage, the Earl decides to host a house-party, enlisting the help of an old flame, with dangerous and hilarious consequences.
Throw in a wily old butler, and you have one of the funniest, classic feel-good comedies of the era.
Evening performances are at 7.45pm with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
