If you’re fed up with queuing in heavy traffic along the A27 near Eastbourne, then why not take the train?
That’s what the Highways Agency is asking frustrated motorists to consider in a move to encourage more sustainable transport choices.
Two signs have been installed on the A27 by Polegate reminding motorists that it is only a 20-minute rail journey between Eastbourne and Lewes.
According to the Highways Agency, the new signs encourage motorists to think about how they travel around the county, in a bid to help reduce congestion on the A27 between the two towns.
Robert MacKenzie, Highways Agency Project Sponsor, said: “We understand it can be frustrating sitting in queues on the A27, which is why these new signs will help provide motorists with further information and remind them of the other travel options available when travelling between the two towns.”
The two signs have been installed near Beddingham roundabout just west of Polegate.
