Four teenagers escaped unhurt after the car they were travelling in veered off a busy road and ended up in a neighbour’s garden pond.
The accident happened on a bend just outside Hailsham in Ersham Road at around 8.30pm.
It is the second time a car has smashed through the fence of the Lemmon family who live there and landed in the pond in their front garden.
The fencing had only just been repaired after a Saab smashed through it in December.
The family have called on East Sussex County Council’s highways department to put a crash barrier up on the accident blackspot.
The driver of the silver Y-reg Corsa in Sunday night’s accident is believed to have lost control of his vehicle as he hit a corner, hit a bank and then flipped through the fence and into the pond.
Resident Stella Lemmon rushed out to see the four climbing out of the car and up a grass bank. They were not injured.
Police and emergency services were called and officers are investigating.
Mrs Lemmon said, “We desperately want a crash barrier put up on the bend in the road before someone is really seriously injured.”
