Teenager remains in critical condition

A 14-year-old local girl who was seriously injured in a crash this morning (22 August) remains in a critical condition.

Police and ambulance were called to the A259 eastbound, Pevensey Bay Road, at around 11.45am. The teenager has been airlifted to Kings College Hospital, London.

Sergeant Dave Morgan from East Sussex Road Policing Unit said, “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to please call us on 101 quoting serial Operation Yarford.

“The road was closed eastbound for several hours while forensic investigators examined the scene and Highways cleared the road of debris.

“I would like to thank drivers for their patience and understanding.”

The driver of the Corsa, a 19-year-old woman from St Leonards, was uninjured.
