A teenager has been charged and another man cautioned after throwing stones at a group of foreign students on the pier.

Police received a call just before midnight on (Friday) July 19.

Jordan Munday, 19, of Channel View Road, Eastbourne, has been charged with assault by beating and has been bailed to appear before Hastings magistrates on August 9.

A 20-year-old man from Polegate was cautioned for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and that was racially aggravated.

Inspector Damen Funnell, Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We will not tolerate such behaviour toward students or any other member of the community and will always take prompt and robust action against those acting in a racist manner.”`
