WOULD you like to find out what small businesses in East Sussex can offer people who need adult social care?
Then drop-in to one of the ‘taster’ events being organised by the council to showcase what is on offer.
You will get a chance to speak to local organisations and small businesses, called ‘micro-providers’ and also to members of the Support With Confidence Scheme.
So whether you are interested in home care, day opportunities, personal assistants, complimentary therapy, learning and social opportunities, or language services and much, much more, come along and find out what is available.
The micro-provider and Support With Confidence event will be taking place in Eastbourne on November 21, 10.30am to 2.30pm at the Age Concern Building (William and Patricia Venton Centre, Junction Road, Eastbourne)
For more information on the event members of the public can contact Samantha Tullett, Micro Market Development Officer, on 463410 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Last year, the council’s Adult Social Care Department and Trading Standards launched Support With Confidence.
This was a list of approved and vetted businesses which can meet social care needs.
This year work started to promote existing and potential ‘micro’ businesses, voluntary groups and other not-for-profit organisations, to provide more choice for people.
‘Micro’ services usually have less than five paid employees and are able to offer flexible care and support services tailored to individual needs.
The taster events will be an opportunity for users of services, care managers and local people to find out more about what these providers have to offer and to try out some of their services.
It will also be an opportunity for care managers and people who use these services to share their views with those providers which are still designing their services.
