Tallulah is top dog in photo competition for hospice

Tallulah, a 14-month-old Miniature Schnauzer Jack Russell, cross has trotted off with first prize in a photo competition run by Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Eastbourne owner Rachel read about the competition in the Herald and Gazette and felt sure that her pooch had the special ‘star quality’ that the charity was looking for.

Tallulah , who loves going to dog shows and playing on the beach, will be welcoming her doggy friends to a sponsored dog walk at Helen Garden on the western seafront next month to help raise money for the charity.

The event will also feature a dog show and the opportunity for owners to get their dog microchipped for free by the Dogs Trust.

Julie Brett, community fundraiser at Demelza, said, “We had 85 entries for the competition so it was really difficult for our judges.

“However, Tallulah is a very worthy winner and I’m sure she’ll enjoy being our star for the day!

“I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to send in their photos, plus I’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Eastbourne Town Football Club who are kindly sponsoring our event.”

Pooches on the Prom is taking place on Sunday September 29 at noon.

Registration starts at 11am but if you register in advance you’ll receive a free doggy bandana and Andrex puppy on the day.
