Emergency services were called to Seaside Rec on Saturday afternoon following reports that a woman had collapsed outside the toilets after apparently taking drugs.

They received the call at 4pm from members of the public that a group of people were taking drugs inside the toilet block close to Firle Road.

A 31-year-old woman collapsed outside the toilet block and police and an ambulance was called. A passing fire engine also stopped to see if crews could help.

Police say friends of the woman had been giving her CPR.

A police spokesperson said the woman is believed to have been taking drugs and collapsed.

The woman was taken to Eastbourne DGH.
