Supermarket giant ALDI has revealed plans for a new store in Hampden Park.

The German based cut price chain has written to residents over its hopes for part of the former Goldwell site on land in Lottbridge Drove between the Hydneye and B&Q roundabouts.

An ALDI spokesperson said its plans were a multi million pound investment to bring a derelict site back into use and create up to 40 new jobs.

It is asking residents for their thoughts and says its next plan is to submit plans to Eastbourne Borough Council.

If given the go ahead, it plans to open in 2015.
