An Eastbourne retirement complex is hosting a summer charity fete on Saturday July 20.
The Hawthorns in Carew Road, where residents are offered a unique all-inclusive retirement lifestyle covered by one simple monthly rental, hopes the public will lend their support to the event, support local charities and have a great deal of fun in the process.
The event starts at 2.30pm and, as in previous years, the popular Eastbourne Silver Band will be playing whilst various games, a raffle and cream teas will be available, proceeds from which will be donated to one of the participating charities chosen by residents.
Kiki Grigat, Manager at The Hawthorns, said, “These are challenging times for charities.
“As an integral part of the local community, we want to do everything we can to help organisations that do so much to help others. It should be a great day and I would encourage people to come along and lend their support.”
The Hawthorns hosts a number of charitable functions throughout the year and also hosts meetings of local groups of the University of the Third Age.
